Beginning German | Deutsch für Anfänger*innen
Willkommen! You’re very welcome to enroll in this course without any previous knowledge of German. Focusing on conversational standard German, you will quickly develop basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills and study elementary grammar and vocabulary. Using authentic German language texts from a variety of media (print, digital, audio, and video), you will become familiar with German and im/migrant cultures and the geography of German-speaking countries. You will learn to communicate in German about everyday topics, including greetings, your life, family and friends, hobbies, housing, daily routine, time, holidays, food, shopping, and dining. Teaching material (editions) will be discussed in our introductory class.
