For over 25 years, German-born Brigitte Schulze worked in Ukraine as a journalist and foreign correspondent reporting for numerous German media, as well as a consultant for media policy. She served several years as an advisor for cultural promotion, earning her the title of Ambassador for Ukrainian Tourism from the Council for Tourism and Health Resorts in Kiev.

She repeatedly had plans to leave Ukraine, but new and interesting projects always kept her there. When the conflict in East Ukraine began, she was an observer for the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Her precise observations and personal contacts with the people in Ukraine give her a profound understanding of the country.

In this Gerlind Institute Oral History event she presents, with her latest book, Sasha, pour one more! With love and vodka through 25 years in Ukraine, a very personal view of her life in Ukraine. With sensitivity and empathy she describes her encounters with Ukrainian people.

Brigitte’s presentation was in English and German.
