Experience three of Germany’s historic cities with professional guidance and a personalized itinerary: Berlin, Hamburg and Lübeck.
Tour dates are the first two weeks in May, 1-14, 2019 (air travel from California on April 30, arrival in Berlin on May 1). In Dr. Gerlind’s capacity as the lead German facilitator and JB’s as co-facilitator, we are offering our experienced travel guidance as well as meetings with local expert speakers, with consideration of your own wish list for sights to see. There’s free time built in, and all group activities are optional, except for the booked travel and speakers’ arrangements in each city. You can expect to join a small group of fellow travelers (8-10 participants) with compatible interests.
We are planning to spend the first week in Berlin, and the second week in the lesser-known gem Hamburg (Dr. Gerlind’s home town) which will also include a day trip to Hansestadt Lübeck, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, close to the Baltic Sea.

This is going to be our third Enjoy Germany Study Tour! Both previous trips were educational, personal, fun und unforgettable as participants can attest.
As Liz H, one of our 2017 travelers, said about what she liked best, “The speakers that I would not have access to, the friends that I made, such as Rahila, the excitement of being welcomed as an American group, and the diversity of our American group, all made this a unique travel experience.”
The trip cost includes facilitation, accommodation, breakfasts, and local transportation. Speaker honoraria, event and museum admission fees are subject to group decisions. Airfare is not included and you can book any airline you wish.
The tour will be proceeded by six once-a-month preparation classes, November through April, culminating in the trip May 1-May 14, 2019. This prerequisite course will significantly enhance your travel experience. See our web site for more details, gerlindinstitute.org/workshops.
